Voicemail Greetings
Avaya Cloud Office will allow you to set a number of separate voicemail greetings. By default, the "Work Hours" voicemail message will be the only message that plays. If you have set business hours, you will also have an "After Hours" message that will play outside of those set business hours. Both of these can be set from the same location within your user settings.
Under the Voicemail section, select either the Work hours or After hours tab and then select the Edit button.
A new window will pop up, allowing you to listen to the currently set voicemail message. If you wish to keep the default voicemail greeting, listen to the greeting by pressing the Play button and verify pronunciation of your name to ensure accuracy.
If you would prefer to record your own greeting, change the dropdown under Set Greeting from Default to Custom.
You will be offered three methods to add a custom greeting: Computer Microphone, Phone, and Importing.
-
Computer Microphone
When entering Custom for the first time, your browser will ask for permission to use your computer microphone. This will allow you to record a greeting with a headset or webcam plugged into your computer.
After you have recorded and confirmed your greeting, use the upload button to add it to the system, then press Done.
-
Phone
This option will allow you to use any phone (not limited to your deskphone specifically) to record a greeting. Enter the phone number of the phone you wish to use to record the greeting and click Call now.
You will receive a phone call from the Avaya system that will provide verbal instructions on how to record the greeting. Follow the instructions and click Done on the computer once you're finished on the phone.
- Importing
This will allow you to take an existing recording saved on your PC saved as a .mp3 or .wav file and use that as your greeting. This will generally only be used if you've saved a recording you've previously used and wish to reupload that. Press the Browse button and navigate to the location on your computer where the file is saved.
